Now What?

First off Stewart R. North Graduated from ISU yesterday! WAHOO!!!! I am so proud of him. I got up early today to iron his gown and make sure all his stuff was together, I even asked him to pick out what I should wear for the day… I wanted this to be his special day. Normally I hate graduations… they are soooooooo long and boring, but today I was super excited. I found myself listening to the names and watching the graduates accept their diploma covers and walk off the stage. All in all it was a great day! We had a great family party afterwards, which leads me to say… Thank you to all who came to support Stewart and who helped by bringing/supplying the food, we enjoyed seeing you and had a great time. Here are some pictures of Stewart in his Graduation attire: Ok on to the “Now What” part of this post... I don’t know if any of you have been following my countdown to when Stewart Graduates widget? But it is now complete which now leads me to a dilemma. What do I count down to now? I don’t want to start a count down to Stewart’s next graduation… that is just a depressing thought, not that he will graduate as a Doctor, but that it is at this moment FOREVER AWAY! So if you have any ideas send them my way… as for now I think I will just bask in the fact that I am married to a college graduate, not that I can forget because he keeps reminding me ~SMILE~

FINALLY

Stewart is officially done with FINALS!! He finished yesterday… now all he has left to do is MARCH across the stage and get his diploma (or his diploma cover, they never hand you the real thing)! I am so proud of my husband; he has come a long way in his long five years of undergrad. To think that he has endured hundreds of hours of studying, missing several fun activities because he had to hit the books, millions of words spilt out onto pages and pages of research papers, and of course all those ugly tests! So to you, Stewart my love I say…. WAY TO GO!!! I can’t wait until Saturday when you walk across the stage and I get to cheer you on.

By The Way....

This is the graduation announcement that I sent out to Stewart's and my immediate family, for his party on Saturday. I used my Photo Shop program that I got for Christmas, I think it turned out well since I am still a Rookie at making such products, and yes I still have a long way to go before I can ever consider myself as a Master of Photo Shop.

Big ol' Long Post

It always seems that as of lately I start a new blog post with the words or some phrase to the tune of Yes it has been a long time since I wrote or life is super busy right now… and while those a true statements I have decided that today I will not start this blog post like that. So here goes with the new blog post.

We have had a ton of fun over the past few weeks or so. So much fun that neither of us have had time to post a note about it. Now aren’t you jealous? Ok ok, I know you are not jealous, but I know you are curious about what we have been up to… yep I knew it. A few weeks ago Stewart had spring break, because I work for ISU I do not get a spring break, it’s too hard to close down all the offices. Stewart did convince me to take a few days off of work, and we went on a road trip!!

We started our outing in Lava, at the Hot Springs. From there we drove to Soda Springs, Montpelier, Bear Lake, Paris, Logan, Preston, Oxford and then back home. It was a ton of fun, I think the best part was exploring the area around us, we read some interesting small town histories, looked as some amazing sites, and had fun getting to know each other. I am soooooo glad that Stewart convinced me to take some time off, it was refreshing. Here are some of our cool photos that we took while were gone. I do want to mention, that we took a detour to Oxford, Idaho, because this is where my parents first lived after they got married. Their home was not around anymore, but the first dairy barn they used/built was still there along with the home my Grandma and Grandpa Hegerhorst lived in. I was surprised that I found the place, Oxford is not all that big, but I was there for the first time over 10 years ago. It was a cool detour, I am glad we took it before we moved away from here.

Stewart and I celebrated our birthdays, this month. Stewarts b-day was on April 2^nd and mine on April 4^th. We celebrated Stewarts Birthday in the morning. I woke up and put balloons on his chair and set our few birthday gifts. That evening we went out to eat at Ruby Tuesdays for dinner, and that was about all. If I remember, Stewart had homework to be done. For my Birthday, we went to Rexburg. It was conference weekend, so Stewart and I decided to go spend the weekend with his family. We had a great time, and the best part was my birthday Cheesecake!!! It was delicious! Oh and of course my youngest sister Emily was in town so we went and painted out toenails together. That was actually lots of fun!

For Easter we stayed here, Stewart sang in Church on Sunday, he did an amazing job. He sang with two other men in our ward, they sounded polished and well practiced. After church we went and visited our good pals the Hymas’s they just bought a new house in town. We got the grand tour, and had a good visit. We are really going to miss them when we move. We had the chance to have a cool family over for Easter dinner. Stewart met Chad on the bus while he was driving around town (that is what Stewart does for a job, he is a bus driver), anyway Chad and he became friends, and Stewart thought it would be nice to invite he and his wife (Angela) over for dinner. It was a fun evening, mainly because I totally stomped everyone in Tri-Ominos after dinner! Yeah!!!

Life is going well for us, we are moving out of our apartment next month, it is nice of the Hudson’s (Stewarts G-ma/pa) to let us move in with them for a few months. I think the best news of the week is, is Stewart has less than 25 days of school, before he graduates with his undergrad! He will be so excited when he is done, you can tell he is feeling the pressure of his final weeks of school. He has a lot to do before graduation. Well I guess that sums up all we have been up to for now. Guess I will close for now, until next… Bye!!

Sister Emily Hegerhorst

My youngest sister Emily has had a lot on her mind the last several months trying to decide what she should do at this point in her life. So after months of debate and turmoil she decided that she wanted to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This decision of course came without any pressure from her family, so that made her even more excited and determined that serving a mission was what she needed to do. Stewart made the comment that before Emily made the decision to serve a mission she was very “I don’t want to go on a mission, I am so confused about what to do...” and then after she decided that this is what she wanted and needed to do she became very excited and happy about the idea. Anyway, I am proud of Emma, and am happy that she is making decisions that she feels will help her in her future.

Another fun fact about Emily serving a mission is that once she goes out and gets home this will make my whole family 100% return missionaries! Yep that is right; my whole family thus far have served a mission. Dad served in Oklahoma, Mom served in Oklahoma (That’s where my parents met, my Mom was coming home from her mission and my Dad just got out in the mission field, Mom went home and they exchanged letters for the next two years.), Katie served in Michigan, I served in Minnesota, Stewart served in Italy, Margie served in (and still is until June 23, 2009) Chile, and Emily will be serving in…….???? I think this is double cool because not only are we all going to be returned missionaries, but my parents had 4 daughters and zero sons, women are not asked to serve missions like the men are. My Sisters and I all decided that this is what we should do, because we wanted to and felt the Heavenly Father directing us down that path.

Anyway I just thought I would share this bit of exciting news with anyone who reads this blog. Oh Emily did receive her mission call take a guess at where she will be serving, before you scroll down… it more fun that way.

Just Another Post

Stewart and I are going to our last Country Swing dance class tonight. It has been totally fun and although I am excited for my evening to be free on Wednesday, I will miss the quality time I got to spend with Stewart dancing. I realize that I have not posted anything new in a while, I am going to use the same ol excuses as before. A lot has happened though so I want to just mention a few things.

Stewart and I had a wonderful Valentine’s Day, Stewart surprised me and took me out to a nice restaurant and then we went to the institute and went dancing. Stewart was very thoughtful a bought me a nice simple necklace… it is perfect. I decided to be creative so I bought the game “Monkey’s in a Barrel” and attached little Love Is… notes to them and hid them all over the house. The idea stems from when Stew and I were first married. We found a blue octopus at church one day (about the size of one of the monkeys in a barrel) and we ended up taking it home and passing it back and forth as a love note. Sometimes we would find it in our lunch or backpack, just random places. It was our love note without words. Well for Christmas I wrapped the octopus and put it under the tree, I think we accidentally threw it out in the trash. Sad!!! So I bought the monkeys to replace the octopus. I know I am way too clever.

Anyway that same weekend, Stewart and I met my family in Twin Falls and went to the temple. (Now Stewart and I have been to every temple in Idaho… Cool!) We decided to spend the long weekend (Presidents Day) in Bruneau with my family. It was a fun weekend, and it was nice to be away from Pocatello.

I can’t think of anything more I could tell you about my life at the moment. I am getting nervous or excited I can’t decide which just yet about moving to West Virginia. We have a lot of planning to do and of course de-junking before we move. If you have any ideas about how to move across the country that is relatively cheap and does not involve selling all our stuff such as our bed and table, please pass your ideas on to us we would love the input.
